WELCOME TO OUR NEW RECTOR OF CASTLEFORD PARISH

The Parish Church congregation, guests and representatives from across the Town’s community welcomed the official appointment of Castleford Parish’s latest Rector at a service held on 30^th April 2026.

Following a tradition extending over 800 years the Reverend Kevin Greaves was Inducted and Installed by the Bishop of Wakefield, Right Reverend Malcolm Chamberlain, and Archdeacon of Pontefract Reverend Canon Cat Thatcher.

As our Church is under the patronage of the Duchy of Lancaster, Kevin was presented by Reverend Canon Thomas Woodhouse, Chaplain of the Kings Chapel of The Savoy.

Kevin is familiar with Castleford and the Parish Church having served as a Curate here from 2013 to 2016

Reverend Kevin says ‘Thank you to everyone who attended my Induction and Installation and for your prayers. It doesn’t seem two minutes since I was here as a curate (vicar with L plates) but that was a decade ago. It’s been lovely to see familiar faces and new faces in the congregation. I’m looking forward to the years ahead and forming new partnerships in Castleford.
